Tiny objects go missing left and right in my house. A button here…a hair barrette here. Though bought at the store, perhaps it is no longer available for purchase or not “exactly” the same. Our 3D printers print in PLA plastic, which lends itself to recreating many small objects (i.e. clips, buttons, hinges, chopstick helpers, etc.). Using 3D printing processes (i.e. TinkerCad, Shapeways, Printrbot, etc.), what could you (re)engineer for your own home? your classroom? How might this ability to (re)engineer small objects empower new-found entrepreneur type activities in you? your students?
